Someday I’ll talk a little more about how Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is the best game of 2011, but for now I just wanted to share this image with you. For some reason, the art from this game is really tough to find on the Internet. This is a comparison of the original character art, their accompanying sprites in the SNES/PSX version, and the updated PSP remake. I don’t remember where I got this picture, unfortunately, so I can’t credit the person who compiled it all. Props to them, though.
Tactics Ogre has amazing art. If only every remake were handled with such class
I still can’t believe Destructoid gave it a 5/10 Fucking distasteful. I love the website, but the reviews are just all over the place. The place actively discourages attempts at objectivity. They wave it away by saying “all reviews are inherently subjective,” as though that means we should just give up on the pursuit entirely. Hell, the guy basically admitted that he didn’t know the genre. If you don’t know the genre, don’t review the game.
Have you ever played the Langrisser series? If not.. stop what you’re doing. Go play Langrisser.
